An Insight Into Fashion Week

As we know, the past month has been all about Fashion week, New York, Milan, London and Paris!

Fashion week is about showcasing designer brands innovative creations and concepts, as well as supermodels making their runway debuts for each designer. We get excited to see the designs, the make-up, the trends and to guess which model will pop up where! We have been updating you constantly on Instagram with show stopping looks and the latest runway style, so we wanted to break down some of our favourite looks from each fashion week, both make up and fashion!

So, let’s start off where it all began…New York!

Tom Ford

Shimmer, shimmer and more shimmer! The Tom Ford show literally shined as sequins featured as a major trend down the runway. With the festive season coming up, we really took a liking to these designs, which also reflected the indo western sequin detail that a lot of designers use on their outfits. We also spotted a lot of reds which is also a popular indo western colour for weddings and special celebrations.

This designer caught our eye because we stock a designer with a similar look. Whites, nudes, pinks and peaches were the main colour theme of their show, with floral detail and light sheer moment. Archana Rao, a popular indo western designer stocked in our boutique has a very similar look in terms of colours and detail, so we were excited to see these beautiful designs gracing the runway!

London Fashion Week:

We were very excited for London Fashion Week, considering this is where our boutique is based and some of the world’s most famous models are from! We wanted to see if there were any indo western connections. Julien Macdonald did not disappoint with show stopping stunning designs, a mixture of dresses, jumpsuits and jackets. In addition to this, a make-up look we absolutely loved was on Britain’s own Cara Delavigne, supporting a beautiful Smokey eye and a nude lip.

Milan Fashion Week

One designer that really stood out for us with Alberta Ferretti in Milan. We really related to the satin materials and bright and bold colours that were being used in this collection. It inspired us to get creative with the indo western outfits we already stock and to put different pieces together to create a variety of different looks. This dark pink skirt and top beneath specifically impressed us, modelled by Bella Hadid!

Paris Fashion Week:

Paris fashion week is always the ultimate glamour event. Huge celebrities always turn up to grab a front row seat to some of the best designer’s shows. It’s the finale to all fashion weeks and we were excited to see some fashion forward trends and unique looks. Again another hadid sister graced the runway, Gigi in designer Giambattista Valli. Floral prints, capes, sheer looks and beaded details seemed to be the key trend in this collection.
